Why is the Juniper Credit Card popular what are the benefits of this credit card?

The perfect alternative to a checking account

Several months ago, Juniper credit card and U.S. Airways teamed up to create the ultimate in membership encouragement. Anyone who applied for a Juniper card was eligible to win one of 2,000 flights at the price of $0.50. They also advertised rewards that would be a part of the card membership. The interest would stay at 0% for the first six months; there wouldn’t be an annual fee for the first two years; and airline miles were even given on balance transfers (that also had 0% interest). This was all they needed to get the paper flying in.

Unfortunately for Juniper, the work load seemed to be a little more than they could handle. The low interest rates, the quick and rewarding bonuses brought in many applicants that the company soon couldn’t keep track of. Slowly, complaints towards Juniper starting trickling in.

Initially it was regarding the company 1-800 number on credit card statements and that it was incorrect. Then, people started noticing charges and funding that was being posted several days late to account. Also, interest rates were being raised without informing the consumer and miles weren’t being accepted from the rewards bank. Needless to say, Juniper wasn’t able to hold up their side of the bargain.
